What we did…

We coordinated a large multi-functional CHC project team located across three continents, to conduct an in depth analysis of 12 key markets. Factoring in extensive macro/socio-economic and market data, we created an unparalleled consumer insights database by drawing on over 40 expert interviews and 250 research studies. 600 ideas were condensed into 22 strategic opportunities across 17 markets. 220 financial assessments were completed to identify the value maximising strategy.


Implementation of the Rainbow strategy began in 2015 and by 2016 the client became the fastest growing Consumer Healthcare company in the Emerging Markets, registering 12% annualised growth to March, compared with a market average rate of 8%.

VBM conducted the most comprehensive analysis of Emerging Markets in our history. The project involved unparalleled collaboration across regions and global functions to make this happen.
